Walk | Stanford

The Walker Bay Diversity Trail experience starts in the town of Stanford, where we walk through the town after a delicious lunch, and head for a boat cruise down the Klein River.

Hike through fynbos

After a delightful breakfast, our guide leads you through the incredible fynbos and forests in the Grootbos Nature Reserve.

A dune & coastline hike

On day 3, we hike through magnificent coastal fynbos onto a remote dune field. Once we reach the ocean, we walk on a pristine sandy beach, to explore a world-famous archeological site.

Hike fynbos & vineyards

We walk through the magnificent fynbos landscapes of Flower Valley Farm, through a secretive forest, and head over the mountain to Lomond Wines. Here we experience their vineyards around the beautiful Kraaibosch Dam.

You deserve a morning off

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Bellavista Restaurant the following morning, before check out.

The ‘Diversity trail’ delivers on its name, offering a taste-smell-and-visual immersion to Walker Bay and its special fynbos kingdom. From cruising down the Stanford River tasting the fruits of a sustainable vine; to the sweet scent of Ericas flowering en-masse as you journey down white-washed dunes to De Kelders. Expertly guided and passionately curated, this trail truly offers both nature and nurture.” – Sarah, Active Escapes – Active Holiday Tour Specialist
